The First Melt of Halloween
August 4.
I know the calendar still says summer.
But today I finally gave in.
Every year there's a moment when Halloween quietly taps me on the shoulder. It's never the calendar that tells me it's time. It's a feeling.
The first pumpkin display.
The first spooky aisle.
The first cool evening.
The first scary movie.
Or... the first wax melt.
Today, that moment came from a little orange Scentsy bar called Spooky But Sweet.
One cube into the warmer and suddenly my house didn't feel like August anymore.
The Scent
Fragrance Notes
- 🎃 Nutmeg
- 🍁 Smoked Maple Syrup
- 🤎 Caramelized Vanilla Sugar
This isn't an overly sweet bakery fragrance like I expected.
The nutmeg keeps everything warm and cozy while the smoked maple syrup gives it richness without becoming overwhelming. The caramelized vanilla sugar softens everything into something that feels comforting instead of sugary.
To me, it smells like walking into a little Halloween shop that's just beginning to put out pumpkins, candles, and black cats while autumn quietly waits around the corner.
It doesn't scream Halloween.
It whispers it.
Melted While...
- 🎃 Dreaming about Halloween decorating
- ☕ Enjoying an afternoon coffee
- 📖 Planning upcoming blog posts
- 🖤 Wishing October would hurry up
From DeAndra's Diary
I think this scent will always remind me of August 4.
The day I officially welcomed Halloween back into the house.
Some people wait until September.
Some wait until October.
I've learned that I've stopped letting the calendar decide when spooky season begins.
Sometimes all it takes is one little wax melt, a glowing warmer, and that familiar feeling that my favorite season is getting closer.
This one made me smile.

Maybe by the time you're reading this, Halloween decorations are already filling the aisles.
Or maybe you're like me, lighting the first spooky scent while everyone else is still talking about summer.
Either way, I hope you never feel like you have to wait for the calendar to enjoy the things you love.
If a little wax melt makes your house feel a little cozier...
Melt it.
If Halloween makes you happy...
Celebrate it.
Life is too short to save your favorite season for later.
♡ Until the next cozy melt,
DeAndra
