Moonlit Storm Clouds

☾ • ☽ • ☾ • ☽

Every Color Story begins with a few singles and a little inspiration.

Sometimes it starts with the weather. Sometimes it's a memory. Sometimes it's simply a combination of shades that felt beautiful together.

Wherever the inspiration comes from, I hope it inspires you to create a Color Story of your own.

The Inspiration

Moonlit Storm Clouds reminds me of those quiet summer nights after the rain has finally passed. The air is cool, everything feels still, and the moon slowly peeks through the clouds as they drift across the sky.

It isn't the storm that inspired this look. It's the peaceful moment afterward.

The Singles

Thunder Bruise

Finish: Matte

The shade that grounds this entire look. It reminds me of the stormy blue violet clouds that linger after a summer storm has passed.

Static Veil

Finish: Flash Foil Shimmer

This is where the moonlight appears. The sparkle catches the light just like silver clouds drifting across the night sky. I used Static Veil to brighten the inner corner and soften everything together

Low Pressure

Finish: Flash Foil Shimmer

I used Low Pressure over my entire eyelid blended into Thunder Bruise. It feels like the first moonbeam breaking through the clouds.

How I Wore It

I blended Thunder Bruise through the crease, outer corner and lower lash line before pressing Low Pressure across the lid. Then I added Static Veil to the inner corner to brighten everything and soften the transition.

One thing I love about this combination is that it doesn't need perfect lines. Let the shades melt into one another. The softer the blend, the more it reminds me of clouds drifting across a glowing moon.

Your Color Story Begins Here

I hope these Color Stories encourage you to look at your own singles a little differently.

Maybe you'll recreate this look exactly. Maybe you'll swap one shade for another. Or maybe these three shadows inspire something completely new.

That's the fun of building your own color story.

From De Andra's Diary

I love walking outside after a summer storm. Everything feels quieter. The air smells fresh, the pavement still glistens, and the moon always seems a little brighter against the clouds.

When I put Thunder Bruise, Static Veil, and Low Pressure together, that memory instantly came back to me.

My hope is that these Color Stories help you see your collection in a new way. Sometimes all it takes is trying a few singles together to discover a combination you never expected to love.

♡ See you in the next Color Story,
De Andra
